I am Yanira Chamorro. I am from Colombia. I came to the United States nine years ago. I have a twenty six years old son. He is architect and he is studying in Norway for a Master in Sustainable Architecture. I am very proud of him. I live in Flushing. I love New York and I work cleaning houses. What motivated me join the program for adults was the need to communicate not only at work, but in the different activities that I did: like going to the doctor, taking the train, finding an address, going to the supermarket, talking on the phone.
