1. Please tell us your name (unless you want to be anonymous), and why you defend rights. For example, was there a moment in your life that motivated you?

I am Jérémy Renaux and I am a Human Rights Defender.

On March 2010, 2 students were killed when they got caught in the crossfire of a shootout between cartels and police. I was studying in Monterrey then and I got impressed by such a violence.

I am currently the Deputy Director of IDHEAS Strategic Human Rights Litigation. This is a picture with some of my colleagues.

3. What continues to inspire you to defend rights?

I am deeply inspired by the mothers of missing people. I took this picture during a non-violent protest with mothers of victims of disappearances in the state of Veracruz (May 2018).

I always march with the mothers of missing persons during the Mother´s day to demand truth and justice.
