My name is Gabriela Hernandez. I joined this English class because I want to improve my English for both personal and professional reasons. My son attends a charter school, and I want to be able to help him with his homework and communicate effectively with his teachers. Additionally, I'm applying to SUNY for Human Resources Management, and I need to strengthen my English skills to succeed in my studies and future career. Improving my English will also help me find better job opportunities and feel more confident in everyday interactions.

I feel more confident speaking English, especially when I go to the store, talk to teachers at my son's school, or answer phone calls. Before, I was shy and afraid to make mistakes, but now I try without fear. Adult education is helping me reach my future goals. I want to go to college and this class is preparing me with the English I need. It also gives me confidence to apply for better jobs and to help my son with his classwork.

3. What do you think would be different about NY or the world if everyone had the opportunity and support to continue their education?00:00I think if everyone had the chance to continue their education, NYC and the world would be more equal. People could find better jobs, have less poverty, and more chances to improve their lives. Education also helps us understand each other better, so maybe there would be less violence and more respect. I believe the world would be more positive and fair. Also, with more education, people would be feeling more confident to follow their dreams and make better decisions for their families and communities.
